11. Gayer-Anderson Cat – Saqqara Egypt, after 600BC, 42cm high. The cat is a sacred representation of the goddess Bastet. The cat has gold rings, a silvered collar round its neck and a silver protective wedjat eye amulet. This cat is known as the Gayer-Anderson cat after its donor to The British Museum.
